Look what's happening in 2nd grade music!
2nd grade students have been exploring sound through singing, listening and playing instruments. We learned that sound has pitch and the larger an instrument the lower the pitch and the smaller the instrument the higher the pitch. We explored why instruments sound they way they do? What are instruments made of? How can you change the sound? Students are classifying classroom instruments into woods, skins, metals, shakers as well as pitched and unpitched. You can help your child learn more about instrument sounds by visiting my instruments exploration page under links on my website.
We are also exploring steady beat, pitch, and form through songs, movement, games and instruments and songs from different cultures and about weather.
Here are some songs we were singing in class about weather.
