Look what's happening in 5th grade music!

5th grade students are singing work songs, sea shanties, Revolutionary and Civil War Songs and songs about the westward movement. During the months of January and February we listened to songs and stories about the civil rights movement. Some favorites are linked below!

We are also learning xylophone technique and creating rhythm patterns using quarter notes, eighth notes and sixteenth notes.  Students are exploring sound effects and created a spooky sound composition.  We will record the compositions and reflect on what we liked and what improvements we can make.
